The objective of seashores is to share haiku from all over the world and explore how the way and the spirit of haiku, with its power to connect us to nature and our world can play a role in poetry and our lives in general.

For this “special” tenth issue, 10 Perspectives were presented: Roland Barthes (A semiotician’s perspective); Roberta Beary; Patrick Blanche (A French haijin’s perspective); Paul Chambers; Michel Jourdan (A migrating-hermit’s perspective); Jim Kacian (A haiku press founder’s perspective); David J. Kelly (An ornithologist’s perspective); Paul Miller; Maeve O’Sullivan; and Kim Richardson (A haiku publisher’s perspective) as well as essays like: Relations between natural diversity and the season word (Alain Kervern), Haiku as Discovery (Jerome Gagnon), The Harvest Moon (David Burleigh), Haiku, the Way of Haiku and Degrowth (Gilles Fabre) and Return to Provence (Michel Jourdan).

 

The sources of haiku had the “traditional” translations fom the saijiki: Summer Major Themes and A Few Season words.
